To overcome the problem of paddy straw burning, a fungal consortium developed by the institute “Pusa Decomposer” was produced on a large scale through private sector participation and spread over an area of 14 lakh acres in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. used which has yielded encouraging results.

Biofertilizer “Pusa Sampoorna”, a unique liquid formulation providing Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium has been developed by the Division of Microbiology. It is used as a seed treatment, seedling dip in transplanted crops and soil for trees/gardens. It can be used as a treatment for spores. It improves the germination of seeds which leads to better seedlings and better yield.
