SVAMITVA Scheme: PM Modi Distributes E-property Cards to 171000 Beneficiaries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed e-property cards to 171,000 beneficiaries from 3000 villages in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday as part of the Svamitva Scheme, a central scheme aimed at providing property rights to rural inhabitants.

During a virtual address to the beneficiaries in Harda, the PM stated, "Svamitva (Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) scheme would develop villages economically and also make the people self-sufficient. The Swamitva scheme was first introduced as a pilot project in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Karnataka. It will now be implemented across the nation."

The central government implemented the scheme in April 2020 to offer property rights to residents of rural inhabited regions using GIS mapping. Drone technology is being used by administrations for mapping during property and land surveys. The scheme will allow the villages to utilise it to obtain bank loans.

The Prime Minister praised the performance of the state government under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. "MP is a wonder and the pride of the country." Madhya Pradesh is growing at a rapid pace and with a strong determination to do so.

All schemes are being implemented more effectively in the interests of the people of the state under the leadership of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Every time I see this, it makes me incredibly happy. Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a pioneering state by performing remarkable work in the field of land digitization," the Prime Minister said.

According to Prime Minister Modi, the soul of India resides in its villages. "The villages will be strengthened as a result of the land rights." People must deal with land disputes and other challenges in their quest for land. People use their savings to fight the case in court. Gandhiji was equally concerned about the situation. It is our responsibility to make changes in this area."

"Before him (PM Modi), no one had recognised that the land in the village should be granted ownership, there was no document, therefore the land had no significance, Chouhan remarked, thanking the prime minister for the scheme.

But now, when the ownership of that property is obtained in the form of a letter of authorization, we can see that land may be used in a variety of ways."
