UP Free Tablet Yojana: 1 lakh Free Smartphones & Tablets to Be Distributed in Ekana Stadium on This Date

On the birthday of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Yogi government of UP is going to give a big gift to the students. The birthday of the country's most loved former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee falls on 25 December.

To make this day memorable, CM Yogi will give free mobile and tablet to 1 lakh youth at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Bajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. A large number of students from every district of the state will participate in the program. 

Recently, CM Yogi has announced to give one crore free mobiles and tablets (UP Free Tablet Yojana) to help students with their studies. In the first phase, on December 25, CM Yogi himself will distribute 60 thousand mobiles and 40 thousand tablets to the students. This is happening for the first time in the history of the country that free mobiles and tablets will be distributed to such a large number of students. 

These Students Will Get Gifts In The First Phase 

In the first phase, preference is being given to final year MA, BA, BSc, ITI, MBBS, MD, BTech, MTech, PhD MSME and skill development students. According to the information, Kumar Vineet, Special Secretary, IT and Electronics Department said that more than 38 lakh  youth have been registered on Digi Shakti portal and still the registration of students is going on. 

The Procurement Process Will Be Transparent   And Fair 

The government has placed orders for the supply of mobiles and tablets to Lava, Samsung and Acer companies. The companies will start the supply before 24th December. Let us tell you that in order to make the procurement process fair, the largest order has been issued on the GeM portal so far. 

For the first phase, an order of about Rs 2 thousand 35 crore has been issued. 

According to media reports, the UP government has issued an order of about Rs 2 thousand 35 crore for mobiles and tablets in the first phase. In this, orders have been placed for 1.5 lakh mobiles at the rate of Rs 10,740 and 7 lakh 20 thousand tablets at the rate of Rs 12,606. Companies will soon supply about 18 lakh mobiles and tablets.
