  • Low-Pressure Area Intensifies into Depression: As of 25th November 2024, a well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression. It is located at 5.0°N and 85.3°E, approximately 600 km southeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 880 km southeast of Nagapattinam, and 1050 km south-southeast of Chennai. This system is expected to move northwestwards, intensify into a deep depression within the next 24 hours, and approach the Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coasts over the next two days.

  • Cyclonic Circulation in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal: A cyclonic circulation persists over sub-Himalayan West Bengal in the lower tropospheric levels.

  • Western Disturbance on Horizon: A new Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region starting 29th November 2024.
