Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall, Hailstorm Likely in These States for Next 3-4 Days
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the next five days in several parts of the country. Meanwhile other regions are likely to receive isolated hailstorm over the next 24 hours, the latest forecast by the weather department showed on Sunday.

Light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rains, as well as thunderstorms, are expected throughout Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and south interior Karnataka during the next 5 days, according to the weather forecast. Coastal Karnataka will have similar weather conditions over the next 3-4 days, and so will coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema for the next 24 hours.
IMD predicts isolated extremely heavy rains across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on October 25-26 and over Kerala and Mahe on October 26, 2021.
During the following 24 hours, isolated hailstorms are also expected in Himachal Pradesh and north Haryana. During the day, the eastern areas of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh are expected to have scattered heavy rain and snowfall.
According to an IMD statement, the weather conditions would subside within 24 hours.
The IMD reported that snow fell in numerous sections of Lahaul and Spiti region earlier today. After fresh snow at Baralacha pass in the district, the Manali-Leh route has been blocked for normal traffic.
On Thursday, 80 individuals were stranded in the Lahaul-Spiti district owing to poor weather, according to the state disaster management department.
Weather in Delhi
On Sunday, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, gusty winds - wind speeds exceeding 30 to 40 kmph - and lightning are quite probable throughout Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, according to the IMD. Temperature in Delhi has dropped after good rainfall yesterday afternoon.
