Weather Update: IMD Predicts Monsoon to Cover Entire Country in Next 2-3 Days

The monsoon moved further into Punjab, Haryana, and additional regions of Rajasthan on Friday. Rainfall was forecasted for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand by the weather station.

Isolated heavy rainfall is quite likely to occur across East Madhya Pradesh.

Over the next few days, the Southwest monsoon is expected to cover the entirety of India. The remaining regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat will get monsoon rains during the next two to three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Rainfall likely in these states 

In its weather report, the IMD stated: "Within the next two to three days, the monsoon is expected to advance further into the remaining regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat. As a result, for the next two to three days, the southwest monsoon is likely to cover the entire country."

The monsoon moved further into Punjab, Haryana, and additional regions of Rajasthan on Friday. Rainfall was forecasted for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand by the weather station. On July 2, it is quite likely that there will be a few isolated places of heavy rain in Rajasthan.

Over the next five days, rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha.

Isolated heavy rainfall is quite likely to occur across East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during the course of the next five days, and over West Madhya Pradesh on July 1st, 2nd, and 5th.

During the next four to five days, there is a very good chance that very widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning will persist over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal. On July 4, there is also a chance of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Odisha.

Additionally, rainfall is expected across the southern states of Kerala and Karnataka, as well as the Konkan and Goa. The weather service predicted, "scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity across Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and Interior Karnataka during next 5 days as well as widespread light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning highly possible over Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala & Mahe."

Isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over the Gujarat region during the next few days. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal will witness rainfall activity on July 2 and 5. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also very likely over Gujarat Region and Konkan and Goa on Saturday.
