What is PKVY?

Modi Government is continuously encouraging organic farming, and has introduced the ParamparagtKrishiVikasYojna. This scheme was launched in 2015. It is an extended component of Soil Health Management (SHM) under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture.

Under this scheme, fifty or more farmers form a cluster having 50-acre land to take up the organic farming.

Funding pattern Under the Scheme

Funding pattern under the scheme is in the ratio of 60:40 by the Central and State Government respectively. And 90:10 for Northeastern and Himalayan States by the Central and State government respectively. And 100 % assistance for Union Territories.

Assistance of Rs. 50,000

Certification for Organic farming

To get the certification for organic farming, you will need to apply through an agent for this. Under PKVY, organic farming is promoted through the adoption of the organic village by cluster approach and PGS certification. PGS is a process of certifying organic products, which ensures that their production takes place in accordance with laid-down quality standards. The certification is in the form of a documental logo or a statement.
