Summer Skincare Tips: Use Fruit Peels for Radiant Skin this Summer

Fruits are a wonderful gift from Mother Nature, packed with natural sugars and essential nutrients that have a variety of health advantages, including better physical and emotional well-being, as well as enhanced skin and hair health.

It is usual to discard the outer peel of any fruit and consume just the ripened, tasty interior. Did you know that fruit peels contain a variety of skin-beneficial compounds?

Yes, the rough outer peels of many fruits, such as papayas, mangoes, bananas, lemons, oranges, watermelons, apples, pears, or chikoos, are high in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, plant-based acids, and enzymes. These reviving components work together to enhance the tone and texture of the skin.

1. Banana Peel

Banana moisturises and protects the skin from drying out. Use the peel for a quick and easy skincare treatment if making a mushy banana paste is too much trouble. After washing your face, massage it for a few minutes with a fresh banana peel. Wash it off with a mild facial cleanser to reveal moisturized and nourished skin. It also soothes inflammation, itching, and irritation in the winter.

2. Papaya Peel

The enzyme papain found in papaya peel has the ability to repair skin cells and rejuvenate skin, making it a lifesaver for dull and ageing skin. It offers the skin a young, powerful appearance by brightening the complexion. To create a paste, combine the peel of an unripe papaya with a little yoghurt and honey.

3. Orange Peel

Citrus fruits like orange and lemon, which you may not realise, may dramatically improve your skincare regimen if you have oily or acne-prone skin. The peels of these fruits are no exception. Simply dry and grind the peels to get a powdery texture. Combine it with lime juice and rose water to make your own DIY scrub. Exfoliate with this paste to keep oil and acne at bay.

4. Apple Peel

Apples are loaded with skin-friendly nutrients. The Apple's skin contains the majority of these nutrients. It provides vital nutrients such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Copper. Vitamin A and C in the peel aid to repair collagen levels in the skin and slow down the ageing process. Apples are also known to soothe sunburned skin, cleanse it, and improve circulation.
