More than 1 crore govt employees will get pending DA arrears

7th Pay Commission Latest News Update: The Modi government will give big news to the central  government employees shortly after the Union Budget 2022, according to the latest information from the 7th Pay Commission. There has been a huge upgrade on the Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees, which will benefit more than 1 crore employees in various central government departments including Agri Ministry. 

As per media sources, once the general budget is presented on February 1, 2022, a cabinet meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in which the final decision on increasing the dearness allowance for central government employees would be made.

Pressure Increased on Modi Government to Take Final Decision

Many states have raised employee salaries, including Odisha, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh. Employees monthly allowance has been increased by 3% (DA Hike). Additional decisions have been made in the employees' best interests. As a result, the pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi government to decide on DA has increased multiple times. According to media sources, good news for Central Government employees will arrive after Union Budget 2022.

Decision to be Made on 18th Months Pending DA Arrear

Media reports say that, the Union Cabinet is expected to make a final decision on central government  employees' salary and dearness allowance on February 2, 2022.

As per sources, after the Union Cabinet meeting, central government employees can expect a lump sum payment of more than Rs 2 lakh in their accounts, as the government can pay the pending dearness allowance (DA) for another 18 months.

Dearness Allowance Increases Twice A Year

Central government employees' Dearness Allowance (DA) is increased twice a year. Between January and July, the DA is modified twice. It is calculated by multiplying the current DA rate by the basic pay rate, i.e. Basic Pay. DA-DR is given to government and public sector employees, as well as retirees.

Joint Advisory Mechanism To Meet Soon  

A meeting of the Joint Advisory Mechanism will be held before any decision on Dearness Allowance-Dearness Relief, or DA-DR, for central government employees and pensioners. The meeting will be attended by officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Department of Personnel and Training, and the Department of Expenditure. The one-time settlement of DA arrears is expected to be discussed at this meeting, as per several media sources. 

DA Arrears of Level 1 & Level 13 is From Rs 11800 to Rs 218200

Employees may be eligible for DA arrears ranging from Rs 11,800 to Rs 2,18,000. Report says, Level-1 employees' DA arrears will range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,000. DA arrears of Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 are scheduled to be paid to Level-13 workers.
