The Dearness Allowance (DA) is increased twice a year, once in January and once in July, as government employees must be aware.

Assam, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, and Rajasthan are just a few state governments that increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of their state employees in response to the 7th Pay Commission's proposal shortly after the Central government raised it by 4 percent.

The Central Government employees are now waiting for the next DA hike because the Diwali festival is over. Earlier there were speculations that the DA hike will come after Diwali. Now the question arises is, when will Central government employees get their next DA hike?

The Dearness Allowance (DA) is increased twice a year, once in January and once in July, as government employees must be aware. The first DA hike was announced by the Center this year in March, and the second one was announced in September. According to this pattern, it is very likely that government employees will get their next DA hike in March 2023. Additionally, a 3 to 5 percent increase in the DA is anticipated from the Centre.

About 47.68 lakh government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners benefited from the Central Government's March increase in the DA from 31 to 34 percent. Almost six months after the first DA hike, in September 2022, the second phase of the hike was announced.

However, the Centre increased the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief by 4%, bringing it from 34% to 38%. On March 30, 2022, the first DA was raised, and on September 28, 2022, the second DA hike was announced. Now the central government employees are awaiting their next big hike, which, based on this year's trends, will probably be announced in March 2023.

According to reports, the Centre would probably raise the DA by 3 to 5 percent, taking into consideration the rising inflation, the rising cost of essential commodities, and the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations.
