Special Campaign 2.0 not only achieves its goal of improving cleanliness and record management but also sets a standard for other government departments to follow in their pursuit of enhanced governance and efficiency.
The Department of Fisheries, in collaboration with its autonomous organizations and institutions, effectively carried out "Special Campaign 2.0." This initiative aims to streamline operations, improve interior and outdoor cleanliness, dispose of office waste, and simplify regulations and processes, ultimately freeing up valuable space.
The Special Campaign 2.0 involved active participation from the Department of Fisheries, its autonomous bodies - the Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) and the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) - as well as its esteemed institutions like the National Institute of Fisheries Post Harvest Technology and Training (NIFPHATT), Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET), Fishery Survey of India (FSI), and Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fisheries (CICEF). A total of 15 sites were earmarked for transformation under this campaign, spanning various subordinate and attached offices within the Department of Fisheries.
The campaign unfolded with great zeal as the Department of Fisheries, along with its subordinate and attached offices, embarked on various activities. Teams conducted thorough inspections and visits to all sections, divisions, halls, and record rooms within the Department of Fisheries. Simultaneously, inspections were carried out at sites belonging to subordinate and attached offices located along the coastal regions of the nation.
To ensure accountability and maintain momentum throughout the campaign, the Minister of States, Dr. L Murugan, personally visited two campaign sites on October 21, 2022, specifically the zonal offices in Chennai. During his visit, he assessed progress holistically, underscoring the significance of the initiative. Further reinforcing the commitment to cleanliness and good governance, the Secretary of the Department of Fisheries visited three sites in Vizag on October 20, 2022, to inspect the achievements made by the zonal offices of FSI and CIFNET. The New Delhi office was also inspected on October 26, 2022, with a specific focus on maintaining clean workspaces, sections, and corridors.
The campaign's reach was extended and awareness was spread through the use of social media platforms. The Department of Fisheries' social media team designed and uploaded 40 informative posts on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook Page, and LinkedIn. These posts were strategically tagged with relevant government handles, as well as handles of Department of Fisheries institutions and various States/UTs’ social media accounts.
Additionally, hashtags like #SpecialCampaign2.0, #SwachhBharat, and #DeptofFisheries were used to enhance visibility.
