Fashion brands have a history of going to great lengths to grab attention, but a recent incident at a fashion show in Chennai has drawn widespread criticism on social media.

Video footage that has gone viral shows a model wearing a dress with a built-in aquarium, housing live fish. This spectacle has sparked controversy, with many people expressing concerns about potential animal abuse.

In the Instagram video, the fish can be seen being transferred from a plastic bag into the dress's integrated fishbowl. The dress itself is adorned with seashells and pearls, maintaining a marine theme.

Another clip shows the model walking down the runway wearing the live fish-embellished dress. The fashion show reportedly took place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The video has garnered over 8.6 million views and numerous comments, with many individuals condemning the fashion designer for this seemingly thoughtless concept.

Critics argue that keeping fish in such a confined space is inhumane, highlighting the need for proper oxygen and expressing that using innocent animals for fashion is unacceptable. They assert that living beings should not be treated as accessories.

Despite the controversy, the dress did find a few supporters on Instagram, including Urfi Javed, known for appreciating unconventional fashion choices. Nonetheless, the prevailing sentiment on social media is one of disapproval, with many voicing their concerns about the welfare of the live fish involved in this attention-grabbing fashion stunt.
