The app will deal with problems faced by livestock farmers like lumpy skin disease (LSD), African swine fever, etc.

The College of Animal Biotechnology, GADVASU, has created the Android-based mobile application "Your Own Dairy Herd-data Analyser," also known as YODHA (version 1.1), to allow dairy farmers to record real-time data on pedigree, production, reproduction, disease occurrence, vaccination, purchase, and sale of produce and farm-related items (like feed/fodder, medicines, etc.), and provide easily understandable output formats in the form of tables and graphs.

According to Vice Chancellor, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Data collecting and assuring the accuracy of data recordings has always been a difficult task at the field level and even in organized herds of cattle. He said that the ideal solution to this long-existing problem would be a mobile application powered by AI. The YODHA app seeks to automate phenotypic recording at dairy farmers' herds across the nation.

Mechanisms of Yodha App

The YODHA app has two sections: ‘Data-input’ and ‘Output and analysis’.

Data-input

The following tabs in this part receive and import data from the farmer.

Animal Detail: This tab enables the entry of the animal's pedigree and other animal-related information.

Reproduction: To provide information on artificial insemination or natural mating, insemination success or failure, calving date prediction, etc.

Today’s Production: The total amount of milk produced, utilized, sold, selling price, etc, in the morning and evening. Besides, any income from any other source (manure, gunny bag, ghee selling, etc) can also be recorded.

Expenditure: Any type of expense, including the purchase, care, vaccination, repayment of a loan, etc., will be noted here.

Diseases: To document the occurrence of any sickness in any animal, as well as its recovery. Additionally, the vaccination information would be listed under this tab.

Fortnight production: It is similar to the Production tab, with the exception that the production data recorded is for the test day. Fortnightly production (once a fortnight).

Output and Analysis

List of Animals & Pedigree: will show the outputs of animal pedigree.

Analysis of Reproduction: Data on reproduction for various insemination rounds will be tabulated on an animal wise.

Production Analysis: Provides detailed analysis of milk production in the herd including any deviation due to disease or any other reason.

Disease Occurrence: The results will display vaccination data as well as the prevalence of diseases on the farm.

Analysis of sales, expenses, and operating profits: On the farm, sales and expenses will be examined daily, weekly, or monthly. Profit could be calculated per animal or overall, for all farm animals.
