Tea Exports to Pakistan Increases in First 10 months of 2018

The tea exports to Pakistan continued to show rise than most destinations during January to November 2018 period - at 14.56 mkgs as compared to 12.60 mkgs in the same period previous year.

The tea exports to Pakistan continued to show rise than most destinations during January to November 2018 period - at 14.56 mkgs as compared to 12.60 mkgs in the same period previous year.

In 2018, the tea exports to Pakistan in the first 10 months increased 22 % to 13.07 million kg as compared to 10.65 million kg in the equivalent period in 2017, as per the Tea Board data.

CIS nations, the biggest importing union of Indian tea has showed a drop at 54.87 mkgs in the first 11 months of 2018 as compared to 58.41 mkgs in 2017 period.

The value of exports to CIS also turned down at Rs 891 crore from the previous Rs 959 crore, said the Tea Board data.

Meanwhile, tea exports to other important countries like UAE, UK and Egypt also dropped marginally in the period of January to November 2018.

It further said, total exports in the 10-month duration of 2018 increased slightly to 225.76 mkgs valued at Rs 4624 crore in comparison to equivalent data of 226 mkgs and Rs 4478 crore respectively.

In addition, unit price per kg also increased marginally to Rs 204.83 kg during the period as against Rs 198.12 / kg in the previous period.
