Krishi Jagran organized its flagship event, the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav,' at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Borgaon, located in the Satara district of Maharashtra, on March 12, 2024. The event proved to be a huge success with the support of farmers and agricultural experts who gathered to exchange knowledge and insights aimed at enhancing farmers' incomes.
The event began with the success story of Rishikesh Dhane, a progressive farmer whose achievements portray Krishi Jagran's commitment to putting 'Farmer First' in all its agricultural events.
Experts Sharing Insights on Increasing Farmers' Income
Dr Suraj Vijay Nalawade, Assistant Professor of Plant Protection at the Central Sugarcane Research Station in Padegaon, Satara, shared valuable strategies for disease and pest management in sugarcane cultivation. His expertise provided farmers with practical insights into safeguarding their crops against common threats, thereby ensuring healthier yields and increased profitability.
Harshad Sabale, representing Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s Farm Equipment Sector, shed light on tractor maintenance and the latest innovations driving the tractor industry forward. Attendees were treated to a firsthand glimpse of Mahindra's latest tractor models, designed to revolutionize agricultural practices and empower farmers with efficient machinery.
Dr Kalyam Babar, a Subject Matter Specialist in Food Science and Technology at KVK-Borgaon, highlighted the potential of millet farming to diversify farmers’ income streams and promote sustainable agriculture. His comprehensive overview equipped farmers with the knowledge needed to explore alternative crops and adapt to evolving market demands.
Satish Wayal, Sales Executive from Dhanuka Agritech Limited, shared insights into crop care products tailored to address the unique challenges faced by farmers. Yashwant H Salunkhe, Chairman of Ajinkyatara Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd., underscored the pivotal role of sugar mills in bolstering sugarcane farmers' incomes.

The event also celebrated the achievements of progressive millionaire farmers, with Santosh Kalbhor, Sachin Ghorpade, Somnath Kamathe, and Yuvraj Anand among those honored for their contributions to agriculture. These individuals received certificates of appreciation and gift kits from Dhanuka Agritech Ltd., recognizing their dedication to excellence and innovation in farming practices.
Additionally, Mahindra Tractors recognized the efforts of 25 outstanding farmers, including Sanjay Shinde, Anmol Bhosale, Rohit Pawar, and Vijay Jadhav, by honoring them for their exemplary contributions to the agricultural community.
