An Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) official last week told that there will be an increase in wind speed along with possibility of rainfall in Delhi and NCR from 7 to 8 November 2019.

IMD also said Cyclone Maha & a western disturbance will bring rainfall in many parts of the northern plains that covers Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh & Delhi-NCR, on Wednesday & Thursday, which will further improve the situation. Skymet Weather official, Mahesh Palawat said rainfall is expected in Delhi and neighbouring regions on 6 and 7 November, under the influence of Cyclone Maha.

He said, "A western disturbance will also increase the wind speed... Strong easterly winds because of Cyclone Bulbul will decrease the impact of smoke from stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana".

Severe Cyclone Maha over east-central & adjoining west-central Arabian Sea will start moving towards Gujarat coast and after that it could weaken. Hence there could be isolated light rainfall over Gujarat. Sea conditions will also be rough over Gujarat coast. Moreover, light to moderate showers are likely over South Konkan & South Madhya Maharashtra. Mumbai, Palghar and Thane could also witness heavy rainfall. However, weather in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and rest Maharashtra will remain dry.
