Don’t be Surprised ! ICE-CREAM does GROW on Trees

Perhaps it would take some more time to hear “ I grow money in my backyard”, but it gives enough not less a satisfaction to hear “We can grow ice-cream on the trees.” Does not it ?

Perhaps  it would take some more time to hear “ I  grow money in my backyard”, but it gives enough not less a satisfaction to hear “We can grow ice-cream on the trees.” Does not it ?  No, its not hoax, not untill you taste this Blue Java Banana, which is aptly named after its smooth, creamy and sweet delicious taste.  This banana tastes like nothing else in the world.

The Blue Java (also known as Ice Cream banana, Hawaiian banana etc) is a hardy, cold tolerant banana known for its sweet aromatic fruit which is said to have an ice cream like consistency and flavor reminiscent of vanilla. In Hawaii it is known as the 'Ice Cream banana' and in Fiji as the 'Hawaiian banana'. It is also called 'Krie' in the Philippines and 'Cenizo' in Central America.

The features of this banana tree are worth praising. Its one of the very fast growing trees, with a maturing height of 10-15 ft. and width of 8-10 ft. And this tree would not even starve for gallons of water as it is draught resistant.  Also it’s a pleasure to look at the tree flowers which blooms in pleasant burgundy color. Though this tree takes 2-3 years to bear fruit but it has a Strong trunk and root system holds up well against the elements .

As wonderful as it sounds, it does not fail to show more wonder with its blu-ish- yellow green color. this tree can tolerate cold temperatures down to 20 degrees, but can also be placed in a container and brought indoors for the winter months. In warm climates the tree can reach up to 15+ feet tall and up to 10 feet wide with its large leaves that can be used for wrapping food to cook on the grill. A sight to behold, this tree is is an awesome addition to your landscape.
