E-scooter sales are driving India's clean movement revolution, despite the fact that the majority of people still use gasoline-guzzling motorcycles to navigate the nation's congested roads.

Ola Electric, owned by Bhavish Aggarwal, plans to launch a new electric scooter in India that will be a more affordable version of the S1. The new scooter would reportedly cost less than Rs 80,000, putting it among the most affordably priced e-scooters in the nation.

The scooter will continue to use the company's MoveOS software and its features should be similar to those of the S1. The S1 electric scooter was released by Ola Electric last year in the Indian market for Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom).

As the company's most recent scooters, the Ola S1 and S1 Pro are equipped with the most popular MoveOS features, including music playing, navigation, a companion app, and reverse mode.

In the upcoming years, the company also intends to introduce an electric vehicle with a 500 km range per charge.

Although Ola asserts that it sells 1,000 scooters per day, a string of fires involving electric scooters in India, including one made by SoftBank-backed Ola Electric, are prompting some customers to express worries about safety.

In India, the sale of electric scooters has increased, but a few fire accidents have made some potential customers think twice. On a busy street in the western city of Pune, one of Ola's well-known black S1 Pro scooters was spotted generating smoke before swiftly catching fire.
