Progressive Farmers of Odisha Felicitated at Day 2 of 2nd Utkal Krishi Mela

Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) and Krishi Jagran jointly organized the 2nd Utkal Krishi Mela at the CUTM campus in Paralakhemundi, Gajapati region in Odisha. The two-day event took place on 21 and 22 February 2023 and featured various activities and sessions focused on sustainable agriculture practices.

The second and final day of the Utkal Krishi Mela on 22 February began with a panel discussion on "Doubling Farmers' Income through Sustainable Farming Practices." The panellists included Soumendra Nayak, CEO of Shanmukha Agri Tech Private Limited, Dr. Bhabani Sankar Das, and Dr. K Harshabardhan, Assistant Professors at SOABE, CUTM.

After the panel discussion, there was a lunch break, followed by a felicitation programme for progressive farmers and NGO partners. The dignitaries present on the platform for the programme included Lingaraj Panda, District Magistrate cum Collector of Gajapati, Prof. Anita Patra, Registrar of CUTM Odisha, Prof. Durga Prasad Padhi, Director (Administration) of CUTM PKD, and Professor M. Devender Reddy, Dean (Academics).

The MSSSOA Dean (Admin.), Prof. S. P. Nanda felicitated the progressive farmers and NGO partners during the programme. Lingaraj Panda then gave a speech, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Anita Patra, Registrar of CUTM, Odisha. Following the felicitation programme, the DM of Gajapati visited the stalls at the mela.

The Utkal Krishi Mela provided a platform for farmers, entrepreneurs, and scientists to exchange ideas and insights on sustainable agriculture practices. The event offered an opportunity to showcase innovative products, technologies, and farming practices to improve agricultural productivity and promote sustainable livelihoods.
