To begin with weather in Mumbai, the city witnessed good rainfall on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Monday. Since a long time, Mumbai rains had remained absent with just very light showers.  According to weather department, the rain activities will increase on 3rd September 2019 across the city.

Right now the Axis of Monsoon Trough is active over coastal Karnataka and few parts of Kerala. But slowly the system is moving northwards. In addition, a Cyclonic Circulation persists over South Gujarat region. A Low-Pressure Area that is lying over Odisha and neighboring areas is also a pull effect over West Coast leading to enhanced rain activities over the entire Konkan & Goa and Mumbai.

Therefore, there will be isolated heavy spells over some parts of Mumbai and suburbs. These Mumbai rains could lead to waterlogging & traffic disruptions. These on and off rains may continue at least next 48 hours. No doubt these rains will bring much-needed relief for the Mumbaikars as the city is receiving rains after a prolonged spell of dry & sultry weather. The temperature is set to drop down and weather will remain pleasant.
