  • Agri Startup Conclave & Kisan Sammelan: Modi to Inaugurate, Release 12th Installment of PM Kisan on Oct 17

    DA & FW, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India, is organizing ‘Agri Startup Conclave & Kisan Sammelan,’ which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Pusa Mela Ground, New Delhi. The event is envisioned to create a dialogue and accelerate innovations at a national level for startups in the agriculture and allied sectors to support farmers.

  • Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi Urges Farmers to Use Bio-decomposer, Happy Seeder Machine to Control Stubble Burning

    Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, interacted with farmers at a farm demonstration on crop residue management in village Rangian, Kharar tehsil, Distt SAS Nagar, Punjab. Dr. Likhi emphasized that for effective control of paddy stubble burning during the ensuing season, the States should chalk out a comprehensive action plan at the micro level, establish a mechanism to ensure effective utilization of machines, promote the use of bio-decomposer in a complimentary mode with the CRM machines, promote ex-situ utilization of straw by way of mapping demand from adjoining industries like biomass based power plants, bioethanol plants etc.

  • Sale and Use of Insecticides for Basmati Rice Banned in Noida

    The use of insecticides like buprofezin acephate, Chlorpyrifos, and Propiconazole has been banned by, Suhas LY, the district magistrate of Gautam Budhha Nagar, for 60 days, as the export of basmati rice in the state is facing problems. The pesticide and insecticide sellers of the district have been asked to submit a list of their stock to the district agriculture officer within a week according to an order released by the DM’s office. The move comes in adhering to the order issued by the state government.

  • Punjab Government Hikes Sugarcane Price to Rs 380 per Quintal

    Bhagwant Mann, chief minister of Punjab on Monday announced that the price of sugarcane would rise from the current Rs 360 per quintal to Rs 380 per quintal. On the last day of the Punjab Assembly's brief session, he announced an increase in the SAP (state agreed price) of sugarcane. The SAP of sugarcane was increased by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 360 per quintal in August 2021 by the then-Congress administration. According to Mann, farmers will receive an increase of Rs 20 per quintal under SAP of sugarcane from the previous year.

  • Haryana Agriculture University to Grant Rs 1.98 crore to 16 Startups

    Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR), the grant has been accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare of the Central Government. The startups have been selected by the agri-business incubation center (ABIC), located in the HAU, as told by Prof BR Kamboj, the Vice-Chancellor of the HAU. The VC, who is also the chairperson of the ABIC, has said that an agreement had been signed between them and the startups.

  • PM Kisan: Government Asks Kerala to Immediately Recover Rs 31 crore from Ineligible Beneficiaries

    The state agriculture director in a letter to the convener of the State Level Bankers Conference (SLBC) said that the Central government has ordered that the money sent to the ineligible and income tax payees must be fully recovered and further refunded to PM-Kisan. The list provided by the state agriculture director mentioned that Rs 18.8 crore has to be recovered from 21,018 income tax payees while Rs 12.24 crore has to be taken back from 9,398 other ineligible people.
