• PAU Startups Win Two Awards at CIPHET Kisan Mela

  Two startups trained by the Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI) of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) were awarded at the Kisan Mela, organized by the Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) in Ludhiana, from October 3 to 5, 2023. First startup named, Agsure Private Limited owned by Abhinav Mahajan won the second prize in the machine category. It focused on developing an app-based platform for the stakeholders of the agricultural industry to communicate. This particular startup was selected under PABI from a two-month training programme.

• Ministry of Textiles Organizes National Conclave on Agrotech: Boosting Agricultural & Horticultural Productivity

  The Ministry of Textiles, under its flagship initiative, the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), convened the National Conclave on Agrotech to highlight the critical role of enhancing the productivity of agricultural and horticultural products in India. The event, held in association with the Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA) and the Synthetic & Art Silk Mills' Research Association (SASMIRA), brought together experts, officials, and stakeholders from various sectors. The conclave comprised five technical sessions that centered on sustainable and resilient agricultural innovations, Indian standards, and Quality Control Orders (QCOs) in Agrotextiles, performance, and sustainability of Agrotextiles, as well as recent advances in Agrotech technology, including digital transformations in agriculture and horticulture.

  President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is set to inaugurate the eagerly awaited international research conference, ‘From Research to Impact: Towards Just and Resilient Agri-Food Systems,’ on October 9, 2023, at the NASC Complex in Pusa, New Delhi. This four-day conference, hosted by the CGIAR GENDER Impact Platform and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), aims to unite national and international research efforts to empower women and promote equitable agricultural and food systems.

The conference organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region was held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on October 6, 2023, and aimed to bring together experts, policymakers, stakeholders, and innovators to explore the potential of technology-driven solutions in addressing the challenges and opportunities in agriculture while promoting agriculture sustainability.
