• ICAR Partners with Amazon India to Empower Farmers with Knowledge & Market Access

  In a significant development for the Indian agricultural sector, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has joined hands with Amazon India, a leading e-commerce platform, to bring about a transformative change in the lives of Indian farmers. This collaboration marks a crucial step towards empowering farmers with the necessary knowledge, advanced technology, and improved market opportunities.

• Jharkhand Initiates Probe into Alleged Misuse of Farmers' Aadhaar Cards for Micro-Irrigation Scheme

  The Jharkhand government has taken swift action to investigate the alleged misuse of farmers' Aadhaar cards in parts of the state. The issue came to light when farmers from various blocks reported that their Aadhaar cards had been misused or that they were unknowingly enrolled in the Centre's micro-irrigation scheme called "Per Drop More Crops."

• Paddy Straw Management Workshop Highlights Effective Strategies to Achieve Target of Zero Stubble Burning

  The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, in collaboration with the state of Punjab and Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a workshop on 'Paddy Straw Management and Action Plans.' The event, which took place at the Punjab Agricultural University campus, saw the participation of senior government officials, agricultural experts, stakeholders, and over 300 farmers.

• Ashwini Kumar Choubey Urges Conservation of Wetlands & Adoption of LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment

  The EIACP Division, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, continued its efforts to celebrate World Environment Day (WED) with a significant event aimed at raising awareness about wetland conservation. On June 8, 2023, a 'Save Wetlands Campaign' was organized by the Program Centre at ADRI, Patna, at Gokul Jalashay in Buxar, Bihar. The primary objective was to sensitize local youths about Mission LiFE and the importance of preserving wetlands.

• Parshottam Rupala commences 2nd Day Program of Sagar Parikrama, Phase VII

  The Sagar Parikrama Phase VII, a joint initiative by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, and the National Fisheries Development Board, in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries of the Government of Kerala and Government of Puducherry, the Indian Coast Guard, and fishermen representatives, is currently underway.
