  • Scattered to Widespread Rainfall Likely over Northwest India in Next Five Days: IMD

    According to the India Meteorological Department, there will be scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over northwest part of India during the next 5 days.

    IMD said, "Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is likely over northwest India in the next five days. Isolated heavy falls expected over Uttarakhand & Uttar Pradesh during the next 4 to 5 days. Fairly widespread rain is likely over Gujarat on 15, 17 & 18 August". It added that fairly widespread rainfall is expected over Chhattisgarh on 15 & 16 August and Kutch on August 18 and 19 August.

  • 10 farmers stuck in flooded fields airlifted from Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalpalli District

    10 farmers, who were stuck at the fields after heavy rainfall in Jayashankar-Bhupalpalli district in Telangana on 15th August 2020, were rescued with the help of 2 helicopters. Farmers at Kundanpalli village in the district had gone for farming works and got stuck at their fields as water level in a rivulet 'Chalivagu' increased, as per an official release.

    Moreover, Dhankhar took offence on Saturday, after Banerjee skipped the traditional tea party at the Governor’s house on the occasion of Independence Day.

    Former President Pranab Mukherjee's health condition is in a better and responding to treatment, son Abhijit Mukherjee said on Sunday to media. A statement by the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital later reiterated that the former President’s vital and clinical parameters are stable even though he continues to be on ventilator support.

  • Sudeeksha Bhati case: Two Arrested in Connection with UP Topper’s Death

    Two people have been arrested so far in connection with the death of Sudeeksha Bhati, a 19-year-old brilliant student from Bulandshahr who was studying in the US on scholarship.

    Bhati was among the district toppers in the Class XII exams last year, died in a road accident in Bulandshahr last week when she braked to avoid two men on another bike who were harassing her. Her family alleged that she fell off a motorbike driven by her relative who braked to avoid two men on another bike who were harassing her.
