  • DeHaat and Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium SFAC signs MoU for the formation and promotion of FPOs

    DeHaat & Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) signed a MoU for the formation and promotion of FPOs under the CSS of Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs in order to strengthen the agri-value chain and provide better market linkages for farmers. DeHaat will be solely involved in forming and promoting these Value-Chain FPOs across India. This initiative will enhance the agricultural dynamics in the country as it will help in amplifying the market linkages for farmers across the nation.

  • GROWiT plans to tap 10% of the $5-billion demand

    Agtech firm GROWiT plans to ride the wave and aims to tap 10% of the $5-billion demand. On this, GROWiT, Director, Saurabh Agarwal said ‘Protective farming is fast catching up in India with its growth doubling annually over the past 4-5 years, said. Protective farming is using products and materials such as plastic mulch film, shade nets, crop and fruit covers, sticky traps, pond liners, lay flat tubes, vermi beds, hole punching machines and agri wires that will help reduce use of pesticide and improve the per hectare yield.

    ITC Limited spearheads the ITC MAARS super app to boost its agricultural business In addition, the company is collaborating with farmers to develop robust models for value-added segments such as higher quality and organic chillies, mango pulp traceable to farms, fair trade specialty coffee, wheat flours, and medicinal and aromatic plant extracts.. ITC CMD, Sanjiv Puri said the super app will empower farmers by giving them access to modern tools, the right quality of inputs at the right prices, as well as market and financial links and also he explained how this app will aggregate farmers' fragmented land holdings, adding that the company has started with 200 farmers producer organisations (FPOs) involving 40,000 farmers."Our goal is to reach 4000 FPOs and 10 million farmers. Farmers can sell their produce to FPOs, mandis, or buyers such as ITC.
