• Farmers' Conference: Union Minister Arjun Munda Inspires Farmers at PUSA, New Delhi

  Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, inaugurated a Farmers' Conference on January 25 in PUSA, New Delhi. The conference, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, saw the participation of hundreds of farmers and members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the country who were specially invited by the Central Government for Republic Day. Union Minister Arjun Munda emphasized the strength of Indian democracy as farmers from different parts of the country converged in the capital on the occasion of Republic Day.

• Around 1,500 Farmers Attend Republic Day Parade

  In a move toward inclusivity, the Centre invited 1,500 farmers and their spouses to watch the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path as special guests this year. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare invited farmers who are the recipients of various government schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, to watch the 75th Republic Day parade which was held on January 26.

• National Conference on Promotion of Seaweed Cultivation Set to Propel India's Fisheries Sector

  Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala is invited to attend the National Conference on Promotion of Seaweed Cultivation on January 27, 2024, at Koteshwar (Kori Creek), Kutch, Gujarat. This is a key step towards strengthening the seaweed sector. The Department of Fisheries is organizing this pivotal event with the primary objective of strengthening and developing the seaweed industry.

• SARATHI App: A Technological Leap for Inclusive Rural Development by Ministry of Rural Development

  The Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, Shailesh Kumar Singh, launched the ‘SARATHI’ app at Krishi Bhawan on January 25. It is a significant move towards leveraging technology for the welfare of the most vulnerable. The app, developed in collaboration with The/Nudge Institute, aims to serve as a national tech solution to facilitate strategic interventions for the benefit of marginalized communities. He acknowledged the seamless integration of SARATHI into the LokOS system, reinforcing its potential as a transformative tool for rural development.
