  • Mumbai to Receive Moderate Showers for next 3-4 Days

    Mumbai witnessed intense spells on rain on 27th July 2020 as several areas in the city, including Hindmata & Dadar and suburbs faced water logging problem. Heavy traffic congestion was also reported from several parts of Mumbai especially in Vashi area of Navi Mumbai. According Skymet weather, isolated spells of rain could continue for the next 3 -4 days over the city and suburbs.

  • What is the Importance of World Hepatitis Day?

    July 28 is celebrated as World Hepatitis Day and this year the theme is Hepatitis-free future, with the main focus on preventing hepatitis B among mothers & newborns & spreading awareness about the disease amid Coronavirus. According to official World Hepatitis Day website, “Worldwide, around 290 million people are living with viral hepatitis unaware. Without finding the undiagnosed & linking them to care, millions will continue to suffer & lives will be lost.” 

  • Farmers in Punjab March with Tractors Opposing Centre’ Farm Ordinances

    Hundreds of tractors were seen over the highways in Punjab on 27th July 2020 in a protest against a clutch of central ordinances that seeks to overhaul country’s internal trade regime in agriculture. Monday’s protest comes after a similar show of disapproval by Haryana and Punjab farmers last week. Last month, the centre brought in 3 new ordinances amending the Essential Commodities Act, allowing barrier free trade in farm produce across the states & introducing a new contract farming model.

  • COVID-19 Update: West Bengal Extends Biweekly lockdown till 31 August

    The West Bengal government in order to curb the coronavirus spread in the state has extended the biweekly lockdown till 31st August. There would be a complete shutdown across West Bengal for two days every week. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced that “We are extending the 2-day lockdown every week in the state, which was in force till 31 July, till 31 August".
