• India's Mango Exports Surge to USD 47.98 Million in Fiscal Year 2023-24

  India has made significant strides in the export of mangoes during the first five months of the current fiscal year, 2023-24, thanks to the relentless efforts of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

• SARAS Mela 2023: Empowering Rural Women Through Craftsmanship and Entrepreneurship

  Minister of State for Rural Development, Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, inaugurated the second edition of the SARAS Mela in Gurugram, which showcases the finest crafts by Rural Self-Help Group (SHG) Women. The event, organized by the Ministry of Rural Development and the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing livelihood opportunities for rural women.

• Wheat Procurement: Bidders Can Now Purchase 200 MT through OMSS (D) Starting November 1, 2023

  In an effort to enhance the availability of wheat in the open market and further stabilize wheat prices, the Government of India has taken significant steps to increase the quantity that bidders can purchase under the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) [OMSS (D)]. Effective November 1, 2023, the maximum quantity that a bidder can purchase has been raised from 100 metric tons (MT) to 200 MT. Additionally, the total quantity offered per e-auction across India has been increased from 2 lakh metric tons (LMT) to 3 LMT.

• Centre Collaborates with Mozambique High Commissioner to Facilitate Seamless Tur Exports

  Singh expressed his apprehensions regarding the procedural obstacles that have arisen since July 2023 in Mozambique, resulting in delays in the shipment of tur exports from the country. He kindly requested the High Commissioner to intervene and facilitate a seamless export of tur from Mozambique, similar to the Indian government's efforts to ensure smooth and hassle-free imports.
