The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has unveiled a weekly organic vegetable stall at the Nellore Collectorate, to foster healthy eating habits and support local farmers. Spearheaded by project director Sambasiva Reddy, the initiative aims to offer residents access to quality produce cultivated through natural farming methods.

Empowering Local Women

Under the banner of the ‘Spandan Programme,’ residents can now avail themselves of fresh organic vegetables every Monday. The stall, manned by DRDA personnel, showcases the efforts of local women from thrift societies who have ventured into the organic farming business. Mr Reddy commended their initiative and encouraged the community to embrace organic produce, emphasising its health benefits.

Technological Facelift

Beyond promoting organic farming, the project Spandana introduces a novel grievance redressal system named Parivartan. This system leverages technology to streamline public service delivery, particularly in the realm of law enforcement. Through Parivartan, citizens gain remote access to police services, bridging the gap between them and senior officers.

Additionally, Spandan incorporates Performance Appraisal and Review (PAR) and Training and Capacity Building (TCB) modules, utilising technology to enhance organisational processes and foster efficiency.
