The Bihar Forest Department promotes tree farming and enhances the income of farmers in the state. The initiative is called the Mukhyamantri Krishi Vaniki Yojana, which encourages farmers to plant trees in addition to traditional crops. The initiative involves providing saplings to farmers in exchange for a security deposit of Rs. 10, which will be returned after three years along with a grant worth six times the deposit amount.

Under the scheme, farmers and residents of Bihar are eligible to receive over 25 different types of plants from the Forest Department's nursery. The plants include mango, guava, litchi, jamun, and many other varieties. The scheme promises a reward of Rs. 60 per plant if at least 50% of the plants survive after three years. The security deposit of Rs. 10 will also be refunded along with the reward money.

To benefit from the scheme, farmers and residents of Bihar can visit the Agricultural Department or the Forest Department's office in their district to submit an application.

Once the verification process is complete, the saplings will be provided to the farmers. The officials will also inspect the farmers' fields occasionally to ensure the proper growth of the plants.

This scheme is a significant step towards promoting tree farming in the state, which has become increasingly popular among farmers. Trees such as mango, guava, and litchi provide farmers with the opportunity to earn bumper profits for years. However, farmers need to exercise patience and maintain the trees properly to earn a significant income.

This initiative is not only beneficial for the farmers in terms of income generation but also for the environment. Trees play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change. Therefore, promoting tree farming is an essential step towards sustainable agriculture and a better future.
