PM-KISAN 17th Installment: The PM-KISAN scheme continues to provide crucial support to farmers across India, offering direct financial assistance to enhance their livelihoods and sustain agricultural activities. Beneficiary farmers across India are eagerly anticipating the forthcoming 17th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, with reports suggesting that the installment is likely to be disbursed by late June or early July. This development follows the recent release of the 16th installment by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Yavatmal, Maharashtra, in February this year.
PM-KISAN: Previous Installments and Scheme Details
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, amounting to Rs 6,000 annually. The disbursement occurs in three installments: April-July, August-November, and December-March. The funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.
The 16th installment, totaling over Rs 21,000 crore, was distributed to more than 9 crore farmers in February 2024. Preceding this, the 15th installment was disbursed on November 15, 2023.
To receive PM-KISAN installments, farmers must complete their e-KYC. This can be done through OTP-based eKYC on the PM-KISAN Portal or by visiting the nearest Common Service Centres (CSC) for Biometric-based eKYC.
