  • ICL Celebrates 100 Years of Successful Journey in Innovation & Sustainable Agriculture

    The ICL Growing Solutions group celebrated its 100 years of a successful journey in innovation and agri-sustainability on Thursday. The ICL team marked the occasion in a unique way, hosting a hundred field days and farmer meetings across India. The field days and farmer meets were held with the objective of providing solutions, products, demonstrations, and knowledge sharing. ICL Group Ltd. was founded during the British Mandate a century ago by Moshe Novomeysky, a pioneering Zionist businessman, who recognized a chance to mine potash in the Dead Sea's desolate and sun-baked wilderness. Novomeysky was an entrepreneur, engineer, and explorer. His inspiration came from Theodor Herzl's description of the Dead Sea as a potential industrial base in his book AltNeuLand.

     

  • Budget 2023-24: PM Awas Yojana Allocation Increased by 66% to Rs 79,000 crore

    In the budget announced on Wednesday, the government set aside Rs. 25,103 crores for the scheme’s urban sector and Rs. 54,487 crores for its rural, for a total of Rs. 79,590 crores. Budget records reveal the rise is predominantly in the rural component of the plan, amid Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's announcement of an increase in the Budget outlay for the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY), giving over Rs. 79,000 crores for the flagship initiative.

     

  • GRM Overseas Signs MoU with Harvesting India Pvt. Ltd

    By signing an MoU with Harvesting India Private Limited that works with farmers throughout the crop lifecycle to help them receive better pricing for their products and lower farm input costs, GRM Overseas Limited, one of India's top exporters of basmati rice and a consumer staples company, has made its first step into the agrotech field. Additionally, Harvesting India Private Limited provides farmers with marketing, financial, and technological support. In 2023, Harvesting India Private Limited will purchase up to 20,000 MT of paddy, 12,000 MT of wheat, and 5,000 MT of mustard on behalf of GRM, in compliance with the terms of the agreement. 

     

  • Workshop on Mainstreaming of Gender in AIF & MP Farm Gate App Held in Bhopal

    A one-day workshop on the Madhya Pradesh Farm Gate App and Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) was held today at Noronha Administrative Academy, Bhopal, in honor of India's G-20 presidency under the theme "One Earth, One Family, One Future," with the goal of encouraging a sense of global unity and boosting the participation of women in agriculture. The main goal of this workshop was to increase the representation of women in the M.P. Farm Gate and Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). In her address, G.V. Rashmi, Managing Director, Mandi Board, discussed the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) in Madhya Pradesh, as well as the features of the MP Farm Gate App developed by the Mandi Board.

     

  • Government to Install Solar Dryers to Fast-track Sun Drying Foods

    Goa Government is rallying for the installation of solar dryers to produce fast-track dried food items. Using a revolutionary solar dryer and space heating system with a thermal storage system, NISE has created a range of agricultural and horticultural products. It was informed that a feasibility study would be undertaken on-site during the first phase. Two units for each drying application will be used in the second phase's pilot demonstration and field testing. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's independent research and development organization, the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), has constructed solar dryers as part of its pan-Indian effort to create solar dryer and space heating systems.
