India & Brazil Enhance Agricultural Cooperation During Ministerial Meeting
Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shobha Karandlaje, held a productive meeting with the Brazilian delegation led by Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply, Carlos Favaro, showcasing the growing collaboration between India and Brazil in the agriculture sector. The meeting commenced with a warm welcome extended by Shobha Karandlaje to Carlos Favaro. During the discussion, MoS Shobha Karandlaje expressed gratitude for Brazil's support to the Indian Presidency in the G20 Agriculture Working Group Meetings. She also conveyed her regret regarding Favaro's absence at the G20 Agriculture Minister's Meeting in Hyderabad. Despite this, she emphasized the importance of the visit in further strengthening the bilateral cooperation between India and Brazil in the agriculture sector.

Dept of Chemicals and Petrochemicals Organises 5th Edition of ICC Sustainability Conclave 2023
The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, in partnership with the Indian Chemical Council (ICC), has organized a two-day conclave under the theme ‘Integrating Sustainability & Business Strategy for the Chemical Industry - Addressing Challenges and Opportunities.’ This significant event saw the participation of prominent government officials, industry champions, and experts from the chemical and petrochemical sector. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished figures, including Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers and New and Renewable Energy, Bhagwanth Khuba, and Minister for Industries, Energy, and MSME, Government of Odisha, Pratap Keshari Deb. Also in attendance were Nivedita Shukla Verma, Secretary of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, ICC representatives, and industry leaders.

To Discard Effects of Stubble Burning, 2G Bio-refinery Plant Installed in Punjab's Bathinda
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Central Government Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), is making significant strides in its commitment to environmental sustainability with the establishment of a Second Generation (2G) bio-refinery plant in Bathinda, Punjab. This groundbreaking project comes with a hefty price tag of more than Rs 1,400 crore, showcasing HPCL's dedication to promoting cleaner and greener energy solutions. The primary objective of this 2G bio-refinery is to harness the potential of paddy straw for the production of ethanol, which will be used for blending with petrol as part of the Ethanol Blending Program initiated by the Central Government. The utilization of agricultural residue for ethanol production not only addresses the issue of paddy straw burning but also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Dept of Food and Public Distribution Organizes 'One Nation One Ration Card Awareness Drive' in Jammu & Kashmir
Sanjeev Chopra, the Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) within the Government of India, recently spearheaded an awareness drive workshop in Jammu & Kashmir, emphasizing the significance of the One Nation, One Ration Card (ONORC) initiative. The workshop, which aimed to enlighten beneficiaries about the benefits of ONORC, was held at Udyog Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu, on November 2, 2023. The ONORC initiative is a transformative scheme designed to ensure seamless access to ration entitlements across the nation. During the workshop, several dignitaries joined Sanjeev Chopra in addressing the attendees, including Zubair Ahmed (Secretary, Dept of FCS(CA, J&K), Ramesh Kumar (Divisional Commissioner, J&K), Abdul Rashid War (Labour Commissioner, J&K), Rifat Kohli (Director, Dept of FCS&CA, Jammu), and other senior officials. Approximately 120 beneficiaries and Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers attended the event, which was also broadcast live on DFPD's official YouTube page.
