  • 'Millets FPO Exhibition’ Organized for Central Armed Police Forces at BSF Camp in Chhawala, New Delhi

    The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) hosted a 'Millets FPO Exhibition for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to promote the consumption of millets or ‘Shree Anna’ among the Central Armed Police Personnel, under the Ministry of Home Affairs' today, at the BSF Camp in Chhawala, New Delhi. More than 30 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from around the country, showcased a variety of products including raw millet grains, ready-to-cook (RTC) items, and ready-to-eat (RTE) products etc, to approximately 1,000 attendees from various paramilitary forces.

This milestone event marks a significant leap towards nurturing sustainable and ethical commerce in India. It highlighted the burgeoning awareness and engagement with the Fairtrade Label across various sectors. Independent research, commissioned by the organization, unveiled a substantial increase in awareness of the Fairtrade Label among SEC A consumers in metropolitan areas, soaring from 10 percent in 2019 to an impressive 25 percent in 2022. The two-day conference held on October 5 & 6, 2023 at Pullman Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi convened over 150 delegates from diverse segments of the Fairtrade ecosystem, including businesses, producers, partner organizations, industry experts, educational institutions, and consumers.
