  • Punjab Govt Promotes Healthy Eating: Millets Added to State Institute of Sports' Menu

    To offer sportsmen with a balanced and nutritious diet, the Punjab government has added millets to the menu at all Punjab State Institute of Sports centres. Millet is high in protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Millet has the ability to protect cardiovascular health, reduce the onset of diabetes, assist people achieve and maintain a healthy weight, and manage gastrointestinal inflammation. Millet is a versatile grain.

     

  • Madhya Pradesh Launches 1st Center of Excellence for Regenerative Agriculture in Sehore

    On April 5, the first Center of Excellence for Regenerative Agriculture in India was inaugurated in Barkheda Kharet village panchayat in Sehore district. Farmers will receive free regenerative agriculture training from the Solidaridad organization. Sarpanchs from 125 village panchayats pledged to achieve sustainable development goals through regenerative farming, biodiversity in agriculture, livestock promotion, water conservation, and soil carbon conservation and promotion, according to organisation officials at a press conference in Bhopal on Thursday.

     

  • Punjab Requests Wheat Procurement Norm Relaxation After Rain Damage, Central Teams Collect Samples

    Punjab has requested relaxation in procurement norms for wheat following recent hailstorms and rainfall, which damaged crops. Four central teams have collected 54 samples from five districts, and the state government has already announced compensation for affected farmers. The Punjab Food Secretary wrote to the central government seeking relaxed specifications for damaged and broken grains.

     

  • FCI CMD Expects 342 Lac metric ton Procurement, Ensuring Ample Wheat Supply in Country

    In light of the various estimates on wheat production and procurement, Ashok Kumar Meena, Chairman & Managing Director, Food Corporation of India, stated that FCI has already purchased 7 Lac metric tonnes of wheat as of now and is well-positioned to purchase 342 Lac tonnes of wheat this year due to better than anticipated wheat production, estimates, and the government's assurance to support farmers in light of unexpected rains. Speaking on occasion, Pramod Kumar S, President, Roller Flour Millers’ Federation of India requested the government to lift the ban on wheat products export on account of higher estimates and sufficient buffer stock.

     

  • Mahindra to Introduce 'OJA' - A New Range of Future-Ready Tractors

    "The OJA, which is set to be released later this year, is Mahindra's future-ready approach to tractorization, characterized by various first-in-class technology for enhanced performance and productivity, with the goal of transforming farming and enriching farmers' lives," said Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, M&M. Mahindra Tractor, a division of the company's Farm Equipment Sector, has dubbed its future-ready tractor range OJA. It will be spawned from the company's global tractor programme K2.
