  • Agri Exports Increased 10% to USD 21.8 billion in April-January

    Exports of agricultural and processed food products increased by 10% to USD 21.79 billion in the first ten months of the current fiscal year (2022-23), driven by a surge in shipment of rice, fruits and vegetables, livestock, and dairy products. This occurs at a time when India's merchandise exports fell by 6.59% year on year to USD 32.91 billion in January 2023 due to a slump in global trade and a slowdown in domestic investment and consumption demands. However, from April to January 2022-23, the country's merchandise exports increased by 8.51% to USD 369.25 billion.

     

  • SEA & Sustainable Castor Association to Follow ‘SuCCESS’ Code for Castor Supply Chain

    The Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) of India and the Sustainable Castor Association have agreed to implement a single sustainability code (the 'SuCCESS' code) for the castor supply chain. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was recently signed at the SEA-Global Castor Conference 2023 in Ahmedabad. The goal of the MoU is to bring the two organizations together in the evolution of more sustainable farming and supply management for the castor crop.
