  • 6 Agri Scientists from Northeast Receive ICAR Award for Contribution in Agriculture

    6 agricultural scientists from Northeast states of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tripura have received Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR’s) National Award. The scientists were awarded for their outstanding innovation in farming & enhancing agricultural economy in the region. a senior Indian Council of Agricultural Research official told that besides the 6 scientists, 2 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK) in Arunachal Pradesh & Manipur and 3 farmers of Tripura, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh received the ICAR awards on 16th July 2020 for their exceptional feats in agricultural & farming sectors.

    Weather India: The northern part of India is likely to receive widespread & intense rain over the next 48 hours due to favourable weather conditions, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather department said extremely heavy rainfall is expected over isolated parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim & Meghalaya between 19 to 22 July 2020. It further said that thunderstorms & lightning are likely in isolated parts of Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh during the next 5 days.

  • Covid-19 Update: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai

    Bolywood Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital for COVID-19 treatment, ANI reported. 46-year-old Aishwarya tested positive few days back and was put in isolation at the Bachchan residence Jalsa that was also sealed by the Brihanmumbai Corporation along with 3 other bungalows owned by the family. Aishwarya’s father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan & husband Abhishek are already in Nanavati Hospital.

  • Coronavirus News: 34,884 Covid-19 Cases and 671 deaths Reported in past 24 hours in India

    India has reported 34,884 covid-19 cases & 671 deaths in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of infections went up to 10,38,716 that includes 26,273 deaths; 3,58,692 active cases & 6,53,751 people who have been treated & discharged, as per the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. This is the 3rd consecutive day when the number of Coronavirus cases increased by more than 30,000.

    Lok Sabha Jobs: The Recruitment Branch at Lok Sabha Secretariat has published advertisement for recruitment to the post of Parliamentary Interpreter on Direct Recruitment basis. Total there are 12 vacancies, out of which, 7 are for English/Hindi stream interpreters & 5 are for regional language stream interpreters. Regional language vacancies are 1 each for Kashmiri, Konkani, Dogri, Santhali & Sindhi.
