  The Honourable Governor of West Bengal, Dr CV Ananda Bose visited the Krishi Jagran office in Delhi, on Monday, May 22, 2023. Having served the country as a civil servant for most of the years of his life, he has pioneered the art of storytelling with at least 45 books written in different languages and four bestsellers. • Vanakalam Season: Nizamabad Agriculture Department Prepares for Festival to Boost Farming

  Due to the southwest monsoon's predicted arrival across the State between June 7 and June 15, the District Agriculture Department is gearing up for the Vanakalam (Kharif) season. The authorities are taking the necessary measures to ensure an adequate supply of seeds and fertilizers for the upcoming Vanakalam season. According to the department's estimation, approximately 5.37 lakh acres of land will be cultivated during this crop season. Paddy cultivation is expected to cover 4.17 lakh acres in the district, while maize and turmeric cultivation will be undertaken on 32,185 acres and 23,722 acres respectively. Additionally, soybean cultivation will be carried out on 58,715 acres.
