• INDO-ISRAEL Villages of Excellence

  This is a novel concept developed by India and Israel together. Under this scheme 75 villages in India will have access to 13 centers of excellence, which will improve the lifestyle of the small farmers. Israeli technology will be used to transform traditional farms into modern day farms. Israeli methods will be adapted for sustainable economy.

• Certified Shahi Litchi exported to UK

  A new verification facility at Patna has certified Shahi Litchi, which is now being exported to UK on orders from an Agri company. Bihar is the major producer of Litchi in India.

• Amit Shah reviewed preparedness for the Cyclone 'YAAS'

  Home Minister, Amit Shah promised to the concerned states that Centre will provide all help possible. He has asked the Corona infrastructure to be well guarded and asked the states to ensure safety of power and telecommunication infrastructure. He also asked them about the status of emergency evacuations. The meeting where all this communication took place was held online.

• Solution for conversion of Carbon dioxide to methanol

  Researchers at Breathe Applied Sciences have developed methodologies for conversion of Carbon dioxide to methanol and other chemicals. They are in talks with a number of companies over transfer of this technology. Technology Development Board has awarded them National Award 2021.

• Government working to control edible oil prices

  India depends heavily on imports of edible oil, almost 60 percent of the country's edible oil is imported. With the increase in this cost, the price of edible oil goes up in India as India does not produce enough oilseeds. Now with unexpected rise in prices, the government is working towards stabilizing the prices.

  Puruliya in West Bengal and Simdega, East Singhbhum, Saraikela in Jharkhand will see heavy downpours today.

• GMO corn and herbicide glyphosate to be banned in Mexico

  Mexican government plans to ban GMO corn and herbicide glyphosate, will now go ahead after failure of big companies in the courts to halt the ban. Use of GMO corn and glyphosate has been banned as they may affect the human health negatively. On the other hand big companies believe that this ban will lower food production.

• Prices of corn stabilize with increased production in USA

  With expectations of higher production of Corn, greater planting of the crops the shares of Corn companies are now not going high, instead they are lowering as more corn is expected by the market.

  Australia will be enjoying second bumper wheat harvest in a row, thanks to friendly weather conditions.

• Black flags for Black day

  26th May, the Black day as the farmers plan it to be will involve black flags on top of houses in villages, effigies of the government are to be burnt and all villagers are to protest on their roadways.

• EU to cap benefits to Euro 100,000

  European Union is planning to put a cap on the benefits that a farmer can claim in a year. They have put the maximum benefit amount at Euro 100,000. The excess balance left with the EU will be distributed to smaller farmers who may require it more.

• China focuses on food security for the country

  Chinese government is focusing on the price of items like corn, soybean and others to make sure that there is enough of them available at right prices.
