Meera, Director, ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-x, Hyderabad, Krupa Shankar, State Marketing Manager, IFFCO, Hyderabad, Swati Tiwari, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Hyderabad, was the Guest of Honours during the programme.

Agricultural Leaders Gather for 59th Annual Rice Group Meetings in New Delhi to Advance Rice R&D
The 59th Annual Rice Group Meetings (ARGM) commenced at the Dr. C Subrahmanyam Auditorium, NASC Complex, heralding a significant gathering of over 350 delegates from national and international sectors, including government and private stakeholders. This three-day event, running from April 24th to April 26th, 2024, is organized by the All India Coordinated Research Project on Rice (AICRPR) in collaboration with the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI).

CropLife India Welcomes 1 Year Extension of Interim Approval of Already Approved Agrochemicals
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare released a memorandum on 18th April 2022, listing interim approved pesticides to be used for spraying by a drone. The registered pesticide formulations comprising of insecticides, fungicides and plant growth regulators (PGR’s) (including bio-pesticides and botanical pesticides) which otherwise are permitted to be sprayed manually by knapsack sprayers in India have been provisionally approved for commercial use through drones for 2 years.

Direct Seeded Rice Cultivation Boosts Yields and Income for Small Farmers
A recent study examining the advantages and challenges of direct seeded rice (DSR) cultivation has revealed promising outcomes for small farmers. The study found that small farmers experienced a remarkable 47% increase in yields and an 8% rise in net income when employing the DSR technique, compared to conventional puddling methods.
