  • Food Safety: IIT Roorkee Researchers Develop Edible Ink for Printing & Packaging

    The edible ink developed at IIT Roorkee's Department of Paper Technology is made entirely of plant-based materials and does not contain any chemicals. According to IIT Roorkee, this ink is a synthetic ink substitute that is completely environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and suitable for a variety of packaging and printing applications. Professor Kirtiraj K Gaikwad and his MTech student Lokam Hakim at IIT Roorkee's Department of Paper Technology developed edible ink to address the challenge of finding an environmentally friendly substitute for food printing.

     

  • Agro-Chemical Sector to Grow at 15-17% Due to Strong Demand: CRISIL

    According to rating agency Crisil, revenue will increase by 10-12% next fiscal year as India continues to benefit from the China+1 strategy of global players and key molecules going off patent. Despite rising input prices, higher operating leverage will help keep operating margins at 15-16% in the current and next fiscal years (16.6% in the previous fiscal year). Capital spending will remain at previous levels, but a longer working capital cycle will result in higher borrowings. However, strong cash generation will keep credit profile of players 'Stable'. According to a Crisil Ratings analysis of 50 companies, which account for nearly 90% of the Rs 66,000-crore agro-chemical sector.

     

  • Telangana & Andhra Pradesh's Cotton Arrivals Fall as Prices Remain Low

    While farmers have blamed it on poor yields this year due to excessive rains at the start of the season, the trade and industry have claimed that some farmers are stockpiling due to relatively lower prices.   • Sistema.bio's Flexi Biogas Technology Receives MNRE, GoI Approval

    Sistema.bio biodigesters have now been accredited by the National Biogas Programme, which was recently launched in Delhi to promote the use of biogas as a clean cooking fuel that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and provides organic fertiliser for agriculture. Sistema.bio has already installed 30,000 biogas plants in India and plans to instal an additional 40,000 by the end of 2023. In addition to the major impacts of biogas plants, this move will benefit millions of dairy farmers in India by providing access to sanitation, empowering women, and creating rural employment.

     

  • Manasi Tata to Head Kirloskar Joint Venture Pvt. Ltd.

    Kirloskar Joint Venture Board is to be headed by Manasi Tata after the passing of Vikram Kirloskar, the Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems Private Ltd (KSPL). Manasi Tata is the only daughter of Vikram Kirloskar and Geetanjali Kirloskar. The company announced on Monday, Manasi, 33-year-old will take over as the Director of Kirloskar Systems. She has been the CEO and Executive Director of the company and now she is all set to head the company, following her father’s footsteps.
