PMGKAY: 400.703 lakh tons food grains distributed till 14 July
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution siad that during the COVID-19 pandemic year 2020-21 & 2021-22 under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, a total of almost 600.814 lakh tons of food grains was distributed. Out of this, nearly 400.703 lakh tons was released as on 14 July, 2021.

Delhi Metro's Saket Station of Yellow Line Shut due to Waterlogging
Due to the waterlogging on 27th July, Tuesday, Delhi Metro’s Station Saket station was shut. The Delhi Metro informed that the trains are currently not stopping at the Saket Metro Station. Entry & Exit gates are also closed due to the waterlogging. Its services otherwise are normal on the entire Yellow Line.

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is formulating a scheme for welfare of the Transgender persons, wherein the setting up of a shelter homes for destitute & needs transgender persons are included as one of a component.

Farmers Protest: Security tightened at the National Capital due to Blinken’s Visit
On 27th July Tuesday, the Union government has heightened security in the national capital as Delhi Police receives intel input regarding the protests by farmer groups in Delhi amid US Secretary of State Antony Blinkens’s visit on 27th July. As per inputs, the farmers will look to intensify protests in the wake of Blinken’s visit.

Ministry Of AYUSH to Implement Scheme on Conservation, Development & Sustainable Management of the Medicinal Plants
The National Medicinal Plants Board, Ministry of AYUSH is implementing the “Central Sector Scheme on Conservation, Development & Sustainable Management of the Medicinal Plants” since the year 2014-15. Under this scheme, the board has provided the project-based support to establish the 24 Medicinal Plants Conservation & Development Areas in 7 states.
