  • Covid-19 Live Update: 3,390 COVID-19 Cases in Delhi in 24 Hours, Total Crosses 73,000 

    Taking the COVID-19 tally in the national capital to 73,780, yesterday Delhi recorded 3,390 fresh coronavirus cases. As per reports, death toll rises to 2175 in the past 24 hours with 64 new death reports yesterday. As many as 44,765 patients have recovered, been discharged or migrated so far, while there are 26,586 active cases.

  • Assam Flood: 4.63 lakh people affected across 1,289 villages 

    At least two people lost their lives on Saturday and more than 4.62 lakh people were displaced as 21 out of Assam’s 33 districts reeled under floods. 

    As per reports, three districts, including Kamrup (Metropolitan), comprising Guwahati and adjoining areas, where people living in landslip-prone areas have been advised to shift to safer places “till the monsoon season is over for their own safety”.

  • FIR Lodged against Baba Ramdev, Patanjali CEO and 3 Others over Covid-19 Drugs 

    Amid the corona crisis, the Rajasthan Police has filed an FIR against yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday for launching an Ayurvedic drug without the AYUSH ministry's approval. As per reports, Patanjali Ayurved MD Acharya Balkrishna; Jaipur-based National Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMS) director BS Tomar; his son Anurag Tomar; and senior scientist Anurag Varshney were also named in the FIR. 

  • India Deploys Air Defence Missile Systems into Eastern Ladakh Sector 

    Due to heightened Chinese fighter aircraft and helicopter activities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Indian armed forces have moved their advanced very quick-reaction surface-to-air missile defence systems in the Eastern Ladakh sector.  Government sources told ANI, "As part of the ongoing build-up in the sector, the air defence systems of both Indian Army and the Indian Air Force have been moved in the sector to prevent any misadventure by the Chinese Air Force fighter jets or the People's Liberation Army choppers there."  

  • Know What UP Board 10th Topper Riya Jain Wants to Become 

    Riya Jain has just topped the UP Board class 10th exam with 96.67 percent marks. She wants to become a teacher when she grows up. Riya is a student at Shri Ram S M Inter College in Baraut. Total 27,72,656 students has appeared for the 10th board exams in Uttar Pradesh this year. UP Board exam results were declared on June 27. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma announced the result, and the pass percentage has improved, he said. Total 83.31 percent students have passed the exams. 

  • Important Details for Employees under New Tax Regime: CBDT 

    The Central Board of Direct Taxes or CBDT has recently clarified that under the new tax slab employees are allowed to claim income tax exemption on conveyance allowance received from employers. CBDT has reportedly amended Income Tax rules to prescribe certain exemptions which can be availed by the employees under the new tax slab. It has amended Rule 2BB which prescribes allowances for the purposes of Sec. 10(14), allows exemption claim under Section 10(14) in respect of salaried employees who are opting for new tax regime under Section 115BAC in some cases.
