Krishi Jagran’s Agriculture World Special Edition on Vetivar Launched at 7th International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7)
Krishi Jagran’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, MC Dominic, launched the magazine, Agriculture World, at the Seventh International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7) which started on May 29, 2023, in Chiang Mai, Thailand and will continue till June 1, 2023. The theme of the event is Vetivar for Soil and Water Conservation. Krishi Jagran’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, MC Dominic, is one of the few people from the country who has been attending the Seventh International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7) in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The Founder of an NGO, First World Community, Dr CK Ashok, in conversation with Dr Jim Smyle, President and Chairman of the Vetiver Network International (TVNI). Special talk on Krishi Jagran’s initiative and Agriculture World’s launch during the Seventh International Conference. Thailand is celebrating the Seventh International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7). Vetiver grass species are quite dominant in Thailand named Vetiveria zizaniodes. It grows very fast and has the ability to stop soil erosion. It ensures sediment control, and conserves water, maintain land stabilization, and rehabilitation. The Vetiver System (VS), originally known as the Vetiver Grass Technology (VGT) is a low cost technology used for soil and water conservation and environmental protection.

7th International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7) Commences in Chiang Mai, Thailand
The Seventh International Conference on Vetiver (ICV-7) has begun with a focus on the utilization of vetiver grass promoting soil and water conservation in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The conference has been organized by the Chaipattana Foundation and the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB) with an aim to honour King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great for his work in the development and application of Vetiver Grass Technology.

For the First Time, 52% of Land Has Irrigation Facility: Niti Aayog
According to government figures for 2022-23, there has been a notable milestone achieved in India's agricultural landscape. For the first time, over 50% of the country's cultivated area now enjoys secured irrigation access. As per the latest data provided by Niti Aayog, the state-run think tank, irrigation coverage in India witnessed a significant rise in the 2022-23 period. Out of the country's total gross sown area of 141 million hectares, approximately 73 million hectares, or 52%, had access to irrigation facilities. This represents a noteworthy increase from the 41% coverage recorded in 2016.

FMC Corporation Introduces Innovative Soybean Herbicide and Spray Services in Madhya Pradesh
FMC, a leading agricultural sciences company, today announced the launch of drone spray services in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The company also launched Galaxy NXT, a novel herbicide for soybean crops, one of the most cultivated crops in the state. The new herbicide and drone spray service was launched in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, in the presence of Mark Douglas, President and Chief Executive Officer of FMC Corporation, and Pramod Thota, President of the FMC Asia Pacific region. A live demonstration of self-propelled boom spray services, which are expected to be introduced throughout the country in the next three months, was also conducted successfully in farmers’ fields.
