• GADVASU Organizes On-Demand Farmers’ Training on Value addition of Pork

  Department of Livestock Products Technology under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organised a three days practical training programme on farmers’ demand on Value addition of Pork for the pig farmers and budding entrepreneurs.

• Dr. S. V. Suresha Appointed as VC of UAS, Bangalore & Prof. Parameshgouda Linganagouda Patil Named New VC of UAS, Dharwad

  Dr. S. V. Suresha, Dean of Student Welfare, has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) in Bangalore recently. He contributes significantly to the overall development of students by organising a variety of co-curricular activities such as sports and games, cultural events, performing arts, fine arts, and literary events, among others. Along with this, Professor Parameshgouda Linganagouda Patil named the new vice-chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.

• Dr. G Hemaprabha Takes Charge as the First Woman Director of ICAR-Sugarcane Breeding Institute

  On October 27, Dr. G. Hemaprabha took over as director of the ICAR Sugarcane Breeding Institute in Coimbatore. The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare nominated her as the Institute's Director up to 2024 on the advice of the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, New Delhi. Before this, she was the Director (Acting) of ICAR- Sugarcane Breeding Institute.

• 11th Agriculture Census to Begin in Kerala by mid-November

  By mid-November, Kerala is set to begin the 11^th Agriculture Census, which has been postponed owing to COVID-19. This activity would include all local body wards. In Wayanad, a district-level training session for the 11th Agriculture Census was previously held, and for the first time, data was gathered utilizing mobile application software.

• Dr. Gyanendra Pratap Singh Appointed as Director of ICAR-NBPGR

  On October 28, 2022, renowned wheat breeder Dr. Gyanendra Pratap Singh assumed the leadership of National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources as the new Director. Prior to this, he was leading the ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat & Barley Research, Karnal, since 2016.

• Mondelez India's Sales Increased by 15.65% While Net Profit Falls by 2%

  According to financial data acquired by business intelligence platform Tofler, Mondelez India Foods' net profit fell 2.33 percent to Rs 977.91 crore in FY22, while income from operations/sales increased 15.89 percent to Rs 9,242.05 crore. Mondelez India Foods Private Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 1,001.34 crore and revenue from operations of Rs 7,974.61 crore for the economic year that ended on March 31, 2021. Mondelex reported a 2.39 percent decrease in earnings after tax to 977 crores.
