• Southwest Monsoon crosses over Kerala

  Southwest Monsoons have crossed through Kerala and is now entering parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

• Indian Railways Green Railways

  A number of Indian Railways Stations, Buildings, Workshops have received certifications for being environment friendly. Indian Railways are making every effort towards conservation of forests and wildlife, hence protecting the environment.

• Minimizing crop losses

  Government agencies including DST-ICRISAT Center of Excellence on Climate Change Research for Plant Protection, are researching on how to guard crops against diseases, insects and climate changes as a number of farmers depend on monsoon rains for irrigation. These agencies are creating software and technology to this effect and their work in this direction is in progress. India is building a base of scientific experts to support the agriculture sector.

  Plants based food will replace meat from the market, in terms of protein nourishment, according to CEO of a pea protein provider company.

• Farmers protest against arrests in Tohana

  The protesting farmers have said that the farmers arrested in Tohana must be freed or they will go to Tohana police station and the police can arrest them too, if they want.

  FAO has announced that soil pollution caused by human activities is affecting the soil fertility and ruining the quality of our food. Pesticides and uncontrolled use of plasctic are the main reason behind this including other pollution causing activities. To protect the soil the production and cosumption patterns need to change.

• Marketing problems in Corona Pandemic

  Corona Pandemic and the lockdowns and curfews are affecting their marketung ability more than their production ability. There is demand in the cities but the villages are not able to sell there as there is no transport allowed.
