Olericulture is a subfield of horticulture that deals with growing vegetables and raising plants for their edible portions. It is the science of raising non-herbaceous plants and vegetables for consumption. The establishment of crops is covered, along with cultivar selection, seedbed preparation, and the planting of vegetable crops from seed and transplants.
