Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) was formed on April 5, 2002, following the separation of the Namrup units in Assam from the parent company Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd. (HFCL). Namrup, Assam, has two operational Ammonia-Urea units, Namrup-II and Namrup-III. Namrup also serves as its corporate headquarters. The Namrup-I group of plants, which was commissioned on January 1, 1969, was dismantled and disposed of in stages.
