FICCI in partnership with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is organizing the virtual edition of the 45th Joint Meeting of India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee (IJBCC) on 2nd March 2021.
The IJBCC was set up in 1966 to stimulate bilateral trade, investment, and technological transfers through sectoral consultations. Japan was the first country to have such an institutional arrangement with India and the Joint Meetings have complimented the efforts of the government of both countries. The committee is led by Onkar S Kanwar, Chairman, Apollo Tyres from the Indian side, and by Tatsuo Yasunaga, Chairman, Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee and Representative Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mitsui & Co. Ltd. from the Japanese side.
The agenda essentially involved highlighting new opportunities in business going forward and resolving issues faced by the industry. These meetings have brought tangible results over the years some of which include the implementation of CEPA and the social security agreement between the two countries.
