Agri-EPI is thrilled to be hosting an event to share our recent prototype lettuce harvester project in collaboration with PDM Produce, Salad Harvesting Services, Harper Adams University, University of the West of England, GRIMME, and IDS.
With labour shortages significantly affecting farms and supply chains, the need for innovation in the automation space has become imperative. This salad harvesting automation project is a great example of the kind of innovation that could assist in mitigating the fallout from these labour shortages.
Early predictions for the harvester suggest a possible 50% reduction in labour needs.
Following on from the field trial event that we held in September 2021 at PDM, we look forward to sharing this project in more depth and discussing further the impact that agri-tech and automation innovations will continue to have in the industry.
